RUN SILENT, BUT RUN

Inspiration
Silent films. Can you imagine what it was like watching a sound film for the first time – ever? It was something that happened suddenly back in 1928. Al Jolson was already a star, but sound make him more than a star, he became a sensation! Walt Disney had to rush frantically to get sound in Steamboat Willy, Mickey’s first cinema release. (It was actually his third film produced, but they held back the first two, pending sound addition) Walt even used bootleg equipment, he was that desperate. I needn’t tell you it paid off. Al Jolson, while still a star, actually took second stage behind Mickey after that. Cool, huh?
