STRING HIM ALONG – IT’S OKAY!

My first exposure to death was my pet chihuahua, Corky. I was maybe three years old, but I can still see him there with my mom crying, me crying, my sister crying… and my dad fighting the tears back. This is why Kimball gets to live, why he gets to go with Wally. Corky is why I still love puppies better than candy, and why I named one of my characters in a musical I wrote, “Corky.” Some things you can’t forget.
