Inspiration

For years I was at a loss about Vaudeville. I saw Milton Berle and others on TV way back when, and they always mentioned Vaudeville. It was, of course, an entertainment form that dominated stages across the nation and the world. Teams of entertainers like dog acts, juggling, clowns, comedy, acrobats, you name it, enthralled audiences. It became fossilized though, as radio and television came into the realm, alas, only be hinted at in variety shows like The Ed Sullivan Show. It basically became a ghosted form of entertainment – and that brings us to today’s strip!
