In 1953 a movie was made about the escape artist, Houdini. It starred Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. I suppose I saw the movie in reruns because I think I was about 5 or 6 when I saw it. I decided right then I wanted to be a magician! I saw all the ads in the comic books selling the tricks of becoming a real magician! I went to the school library in search of the mysterious secrets of Houdini. I found some things… I learned a few illusions… some I still can accomplish today… but no, it wasn’t for me in the end. I was too shy to act so bold. Today’s story line came from recalling those days in my youth. What those ideas developed into in ShambleJam is its own story. Please, read on!
